• The end is in sight!

Well, tonights the night! Sorry I haven't updated the blog that often, must admit I've been kinda busy. Quick run through of the past few days.

Wednesday - I did Longside Edge, up and over Ullock Pike and then up to the top of Skiddaw, nice and early in the morning so it wasn't too hot. Went really well that day, although was rushed to get back to work for an important funding meeting in Penrith1

Thursday - Couple of mates joined me to take the route from Dodd Wood, for some reason Thursdays have been my nemesis! I was stiff as a board, my calfs were brutally tight and the heat was incredible! Really struggle on the way up, especially as we came out of the forest and out into the blazing sun. The last stretch of this route is up a scree slope. Not a welcome sight on day 10!

Friday - I posted an advert for support on the CFM facebook page and one of there listeners offered to climb with me. Skiddaw was Elaines first mountain and she did incredibly well. Top to Bottom from Latrigg carpark in just 3 hours 11 minutes.

Saturday - Oh what a night!! Had a crazy idea that it was too hot so me and a friend would wait til later in the day to start walking. we set off at 8.30 and reached the summit just 70 minutes later. As we came over the top the sun was just about to disapear behind the horizon and the solway was glowing red. Absolutely spectacular. We took a break on the top and watched the sky change from red to purple to dark blue, then strapped on the head torches and made our way back down.........

So todays the day! I no longer have to worry about being able to do it again tomorrow, tonight I can push it as hard as I want. I'm going for my own personal record time. The quickest I've ever done the Latrigg route is 2hours and 5 minutes, tonight I'm looking to smash that by at least 10 - 15 minutes!

Oh and more importantly my sponsorship has tipped the scales at over £1300!

Thank you all so much for the support!
